Some choices feel bigger than others. Will Schutz tells us that:

I choose my whole life and I always have

Our choice as a nation to leave the EU feels huge. And it also feels like a moment that for 48% of those who voted isn’t something that they chose.

It’s an occasion where my interpretation of Schutz’s statement, shared with you before (blog of February 20th 2015) seems relevant:

Even if you don’t choose everything that happens to you, you choose how you react to it

So whether as individuals we voted remain or leave, now we need to choose how we react.

We will also, of course, look to those that lead us for their reactions. I hope that they are more ready for the choices and challenges that lie ahead than they currently appear to be.
